What’s On

COVID-19 update

With regret we have closed the play areas in Beacon Park and Stowe Pool and Beacon Park’s skatepark. We have also cancelled a number of our events that were set to take place in Beacon Park this spring due to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak.

While our parks and green spaces are still open, we have closed all our play areas and multi-use games areas across the district. This includes Beacon Park’s and Stowe Pool’s play areas and the Beacon Park’s skatepark.

Please be responsible and do not let your child access any of our play equipment, multi-use games areas or skateparks.

We are also recommending that you do not use our outdoor gym equipment at Stowe Pool.

We have also cancelled a number of our events that were set to take place.

This includes the Mother’s Day Flower Making workshop, the Easter trail, Carrot Day and our Wellbeing Wonder Wander session. We are also temporarily putting our weekly and monthly sessions on hold, including our health walks, Countryside & Parks Conservation Group activities, and our Neaten & Natter and Event Volunteer sessions.

There are a number of events and activities that were due to take place in Beacon Park, which are organised by others, that we understand have also been put on hold, such as the weekly Beacon Parkrun, the Cathedral to Castle Run and Lichfield Greenhill Bower. Please check the individual organiser’s website for more details.

We are sorry for any disappointment caused, but the safety of our residents, visitors and and staff is our main priority. We are continuing to encourage everyone to follow Public Health England and NHS guidance and will be reviewing future events and access to our playgrounds as the situation progresses.

It’s important that we all keep active for our health and wellbeing. You can still go outside (once a day) for a walk, run, cycle – or any other way you normally get active outside – provided you are doing so in a way that meets the latest guidance on social distancing and advice on unnecessary social contact. Read the updated governement guidance.

Thank you for bearing with us.
