Visiting Beacon Park

Opening times

Beacon Park is open all year-round. The Ranger Station (information kiosk next to the crazy golf course) is open every day, except for Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. Its opening hours vary depending on the time of year. At the height of summer the Ranger Station is open from 9am to 8pm and in the middle of winter it is open from 9am to 4pm weekdays and from 9.30am to 4pm on weekends.

How to get here

Lichfield District is in southern Staffordshire, convenient for Birmingham and the National Exhibition Centre. The M6 Toll also runs down the western side of the district and links the M6 with the M42.

By road

The A38 and A5 meet in Lichfield and provide direct access to the Midlands motorway network: M42, M50, M40, M5/M6, and M1.

By rail or bus

Lichfield City Railway Station on Birmingham Road is a few minutes walk from the city centre. Opposite the bus station, it offers frequent direct services to Birmingham New Street station.

Dogs

Dogs are welcome in Beacon Park. We do ask that owners keep their dogs under control at all times and away from the enclosed play area and golf course. We also kindly ask that you always clean up after your dog.

Barbecues in our parks

We generally allow barbecues in our parks, but expect you to be sensible and to follow our guidance.

Metal detecting

We do not allow metal detecting to take place in our parks.

Drones

As landowner, the council does not permit drone operations over parks and open spaces, due to the safety and sensitivity of crowded areas.  We may grant permission for professional drone operators for contractual filming who hold the relevant documentation, for more details please contact parks@lichfielddc.gov.uk.
