Conservation Work in Beacon Park

Volunteers are invited to join Lichfield District’s Countryside and Parks Conservation Group for two sessions in Beacon Park this month.
The first session tomorrow, Wednesday 6 March, and the second on Wednesday 20 March will see the group completing some dead hedging along the Western Bypass.
This is the process of bending dead hedge back to create a wall which encourages a diverse habitat for many different bird and insect species, along with a barrier to the A51.
All materials and tools are provided and light refreshments will also be offered at the sessions which take place from 10am to 2pm.
Volunteers wishing to take part are asked to meet at the Beacon Park noticeboard near the crossing to Christ Church just off the Western Bypass.
It is advised that they bring waterproof coats and working boots.
