Pat Collins funfair postponed

Sadly a popular Bank Holiday family fun event in Beacon Park has been postponed due to weather.

Funfair operator Pat Collins was due to host its first post-lockdown family fun event in Lichfield’s Beacon Park this Bank Holiday weekend.

However, a site inspection following the unseasonal heavy rain means the fair can’t go ahead and has been postponed until potentially the 6, 7, 8 and 13, 14, 15 August, subject to licence. Purchased tickets can be used on these dates.

Elleray Harris, marketing manager for Pat Collins Funfair, said:

“We are gutted that our first post-lockdown event in Lichfield can’t go ahead. The ground is too waterlogged and we wouldn’t want to cause damage to Beacon Park bringing our heavy vehicles and rides onto the site – it wouldn’t be right, so we’ve taken the difficult decision to postpone the fair until later in the summer. Tickets will, of course, be refunded or can be used later in the summer.”

Plans are now under way for the funfair in August subject to licence in Stowe Fields with the added attraction of puppets and a live tribute band.
