Beacon Park’s online Easter activities

Enjoy some Easter holiday fun!

Children from across the district and beyond won’t have to miss out on Beacon Park’s Easter trail and Carrot Day activities thanks to new online resources.

Even though Lichfield District Council cannot run its usual Easter holiday activities at Beacon Park, it has put together digital resources so children and families can still take part in the fun.

The online trail has Easter-themed puzzles to solve. There are two sets of clues, the yellow is aimed at younger children and the blue is for older children.

The clues can be downloaded onto a device or printed off and placed around the home and garden for added fun.

Councillor Liz Little, Cabinet Member for Recycling & Leisure, said:

“We don’t want local families to miss out on the fun of our annual Beacon Park Easter Trail, so we’ve put together everything you need to complete it from the comfort of your own homes.

“It’s a really worrying time for everyone at the moment, so taking part in fun activities over the Easter holidays should help lighten the mood.”

To take part in the online Easter trail, which includes a prize draw to win one of four family games, visit www.lichfieldhistoricparks.co.uk/eastertrail.

The council’s parks team is also making their preparations for Carrot Day on Wednesday 8 April. This will also see online resources available on the day.

They will include a carrot-themed colouring in competition, a hunt for the carrot activity, carrot javelin, carrot orienteering, carrot printing and carrot stories.

To take part, go to www.lichfieldhistoricparks.co.uk/carrotday on Wednesday 8 April but don’t forget to stock up on carrots in the meantime!

The council would also like to use this opportunity to remind its residents of the government’s social distancing advice if visiting its parks over the Easter holidays. This includes:

  • You can still go to parks for outdoor exercise once a day but only alone or with members of your household, not in groups.
  • Communal places in parks, such as playgrounds and sports facilities, have been closed.
  • Keep two metres apart from others at all times.
  • Gatherings of two or more people, unless with members of your household, have been banned.
