Beacon Park is hosting two crafty workshops this September. The first is a Beginner’s Bunting Workshop on Friday 14 September from 1pm to 3pm.

It’s aimed at adults and will teach participants how to make a length of vintage bunting using a sewing machine.

The second workshop of the month is Happy Jars and Stones on Friday 28 September from 1pm to 3pm.

Also for adults, the group will decorate a glass jar to fill with happy thoughts and also paint stones to add to their gardens or leave in places for others to find to make them smile.

Ruth Piddington, Community and Education Officer for Lichfield District Council, said: “Taking part in craft activities has been proven to have a really positive effect on your mood. This is why we’re running these crafty wellbeing workshops, to not only show how to hand make some lovely objects, but to introduce local people to what might become a new hobby that will have health giving benefits.”

The workshops will take place in Beacon Park’s Discovery Hub and cost £5 each. Spaces are limited – to book call 01543 308867.

If you can’t make either of this month’s sessions, but are interested in joining in future ones, please register your interest by emailing parks@lichfielddc.gov.uk.
