We are looking forward to welcoming Carters Steam Fair to Beacon Park this weekend (21 & 22 July). However, the fireworks display has been cancelled due to the fire risk following all the dry weather.
Carters Steam Fair is renowned for being world’s premier vintage travelling funfair, bringing the thrills and delights of the traditional fairground to towns and villages each year. They have a large collection of rides and sidestalls, ranging in date from the late 1870s to the 1960s.
The rides and games take tokens, which cost 50p each and can be bought from the token booth or vending machines at the fair. You can also book online, and if you do so by midnight the night before you visit you will get extra free rides on top of your ride tokens!
If you’d like to ride with your children you’ll need tokens for each adult too. You can also use the tokens at the classic side stall games: things like the hook-a-duck and the coconut sheet are very popular with children of all ages.
