The Italian Job at Beacon Park

The Italian Job at Beacon Park

Following its screening of The Italian Job, the first of four drive-in movies that are being shown at Beacon Park this spring and summer, Lichfield District Council is reminding film-lovers that there is still time to book to see Dirty Dancing.

Cars of all makes and sizes, including plenty of classic minis, assembled at Beacon Park on Saturday 12 May to enjoy a drive-in movie experience and watch The Italian Job.

Gates opened at 12noon, which gave film goers a chance to park their cars in plenty of time for the main event, and to also enjoy all that Lichfield has to offer.

Now the team at Beacon Park is preparing for its second May blockbuster, Dirty Dancing, which will play on Saturday 19 May.

Councillor Iain Eadie, Cabinet Member for Leisure, said: “Time is running out to secure your place to see the much loved movie, Dirty Dancing.

“Of the four films we’re showing this year, Dirty Dancing is proving really popular and we know there will be a great atmosphere on the night. With an amazing soundtrack, fabulous dancing, and some brilliant one-liners, we know it’s a movie that won’t disappoint. So, make sure you book your tickets before it’s too late.”

Dirty Dancing will be shown to people in their cars on a giant inflatable screen, and movie-goers simply need to tune their vehicle radios in to hear the soundtrack.

There will once again be a reserved area in front of the cars for on foot ticket holders to bring along chairs and enjoy the film outside. Cinema snacks will also be on offer.

Gates will open at 12noon to allow audience members to park up and enjoy all that Beacon Park and Lichfield has to offer. The film will then start when it gets dark at around 9.15pm.

Tickets cost £25 a car and £5 for on foot customers, with the option of hiring a headset. Dirty Dancing is rated certificate 15.

Tickets can be booked in person at the Lichfield Garrick Box Office, over the phone by calling 01543 412121, or online at www.lichfieldgarrick.com.
