Work to replace sections of a footpath that runs around a Lichfield City beauty spot will get underway this August.

Lichfield District Council has organised works to the path around Stowe Pool that will start from Tuesday 22 August 2017.

Sections of the path will be closed to the public throughout the works, which should only take between two to three days, depending on the weather. Signs will be displayed to advise on the route available on the day.

Chris Cook, Head of Leisure & Operational Services, said: “Over years, the footpath round Stowe Pool has become worn in places and in need of repair.

“Visitors have told us that pushing buggies or using wheelchairs on the path can be especially difficult, which is why it’s really important that we repair it. So, I’m really pleased the works are getting underway this week, and they should improve everyone’s experience of going around the stunning setting of Stowe Pool.

“The works should only take a few days, and we ask that visitors to the site bear with us while they are taking place.”

On top of the pathway repairs, the council is also installing new bins to the area.
