If you visit Museum Gardens in Beacon Park or Stowe Pool, you will notice that picture frames on stands have popped up in both these historic parks!
They have been installed as part of a partnership project with Lichfield Cathedral and the artist Peter Walker.
The frames are positioned so they catch beautiful views of the cathedral. The idea is visitors can see the historic building with an artist’s eye, and also take photos and selfies.
The frames will be in place until 11 June and we hope lots of people take the chance to take a photo and enjoy the view! If you do post a photo on social media, remember to tag in @Lichfield_DC and @LichfieldCath
This is part of a wider project linked to the Turner exhibition, which is open each day at Lichfield Cathedral from 10am to 4pm until 11 June. The highlight of the exhibition is a painting and sketches by the world renowned artist J M W Turner, which looks as though it was painted from the direction of the park. You can find out more information about the Turner exhibition on Lichfield Cathedral’s website.
