Lichfield District Council is inviting children, young people and families to take a look at its programme of activities on offer this Easter.

From sports courses and swimming lessons to giant inflatable pool fun sessions and roller skating, there are plenty of egg-cellent holiday activities on offer at Burntwood Leisure Centre and Friary Grange Leisure Centre.

Savings are available on many of the sports courses, such as trampolining at Burntwood or the boot camp at the Friary, if booked by 13 March 2016.

There is plenty of fun on offer at Beacon Park too. Families can follow an Easter trail to solve clues and claim a small prize. The trails cost £1 each and will be available from Beacon Park’s Ranger Station between 19 March and 10 April from 9am to 4pm. Other holiday trails include a free poetry trail to Celebrate World Poetry Day on 21 March and an Xplorer challenge for 50p on 6 April.

The city park is also hosting an Easter bonnet workshop on Friday 25 March. Costing £2.50 a bonnet, the drop-in activity will run between 10am and 1.30pm in the Discovery Hub. This will lead up to an Easter bonnet parade, starting at Museum Gardens, at 2pm. There is even a small prize for the most creative bonnet.

Councillor Andy Smith, Lichfield District Council’s Cabinet Member for Leisure & Parks, said: “We’ve got lots of activities on offer this Easter to keep children active and entertained over the holidays. Taking part in a swimming or sports course is a great way to improve skills, meet new friends and keep busy. Families can also enjoy following a trail or making an Easter bonnet while visiting beautiful Beacon Park.”

The full Holiday Fun programme is available at www.lichfielddc.gov.uk/holidayfun. This lists all the activities and gives information, such as times, what the activity involves, and how to book.
