January sees the start of Golf Leaderboard challenges at Beacon Park.
Each month anyone teeing off at Beacon Park’s 18-hole pitch and putt, par 3 golf course will get to see if they can top the leaderboard.
All golfers need to do to enter is add their name and phone number to the back of their golf scorecard and hand it into the Ranger Station whenever they play a round.
Each month the scores will be added up, and the male, female and junior golfer with the best scores will see their name on the leaderboard and will also win a prize.
Councillor Andy Smith, Cabinet Member for Leisure & Parks at Lichfield District Council, said “This is a good way to encourage a bit of friendly competition, as players will need to up their game to beat off stiff competition from other local golfers. Good luck to you all.”
The Golf Leaderboard challenge will be run each month throughout 2016
Beacon Park’s golf course is open every day (subject to conditions), except for Christmas Day. There is no need to book – just turn up and pay at the Ranger Station.
An 18-hole round of golf costs £8 for adults and £4 for children, with discounts available with a Leisure Activity Passport. Golfers can play with their own clubs or hire the appropriate equipment at the Ranger Station.
