If you enjoy crafting, why not work on your projects with other likeminded people?
2016’s programme of Beacon Park events is kicking off on Friday 15 January with the first in the series of Crafty Socials.
This is a fortnightly class where anyone can come along and work on their craft projects in Beacon Park’s Discovery Hub.
The two-hour long sessions will be an opportunity to share tips and seek help from other crafty locals. Any project can be worked on, from knitting and sewing, through to embroidery or decoupage.
There will also be the opportunity to learn new skills with beginner’s tuition offered in making rag rugs or paper animal sculptures and learning to knit.
Ruth Witczak, Community & Education Officer for Beacon Park, said “We’ve put together these fortnightly sessions as lots of people have expressed an interest in working alongside others on their craft projects. It’s a good way to meet other people who enjoy similar activities in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, and we hope plenty of people will join us.”
Sessions will run on the first and third Friday of each month from 1pm to 3pm. They cost £2 a session with extra costs for beginner’s tuition sessions.
Upcoming Crafty Social sessions will take place on 15 January, 5 and 19 February and 4 and 18 March.
