Thousands of children and their families flocked to Beacon Park on Wednesday 12 August to enjoy the Fun Day & Teddy Bear Games.
Organised by Lichfield District Council, there was plenty of fun to be had at Beacon Park’s Fun Day, with a range of games and activities, such as giant inflatables, miniature steam train rides and lots of stalls.
There was also face painting, parachute games, a barefoot walk, rides on a carousel and much more on offer.
The Teddy Arena, where children competed in teddy themed races, was a highlight of the day. Children and their favourite teddy bears took part in races, including the Teddy Sprint, Ted on the Head and Teddy Wanging. And, the park’s giant teddy, Ranger Ted, also made a special guest appearance.
Councillor Andy Smith, Cabinet Member for Leisure & Parks, said: “Beacon Park was packed with children and their families for the Fun Day. It was a great success with a lot of happy faces all round. Well done to everyone who competed in the teddy races and thank you to the Parks Team for making the day such a success.”
There is plenty to do at Beacon Park over the summer. On top of a programme of events, on most days children can have a ride on a donkey, a go on pedalos on the boating pool, enjoy bouncy fun, play a round of crazy golf and more.
