More than 40 people took a trip down memory lane at February’s Community Drop-in session.
Lichfield District Council’s parks team hosted a Community Drop-in session at Beacon Park’s Discovery Hub on Saturday 28 February 2015.
It offered visitors the chance to see a collection of photographs from Lichfield’s past, hosted by the ‘You’re probably from Lichfield, Staffs if…’ Facebook group.
Dave Gallagher, one of the founding members of the group, said: “Thank you to the parks team for inviting us to be a part of this drop-in session. It was a great chance for visitors to see photos taken of Lichfield over the years, including some lovely shots of Beacon Park. Visitors also brought along their own photos and shared their memories with us, which really added to the day. We’re hoping to return with more pictures from our collection soon.”
The event was also an opportunity for park users to meet members of the council’s parks team, to ask questions, talk over any concerns, and to give feedback on the district’s green spaces.
Community Drop-in sessions run at Beacon Park on the last Saturday of every month, with times and locations varying depending on visiting groups.
This month’s Community Drop-in will be held at Beacon Park on Saturday 28 March from 11am to 12noon. Officers from Staffordshire Police will be joining the parks team to talk about crime prevention and policing matters. Everyone is welcome to drop-in!
