The water level at Stowe Pool has been lowered by just over one metre so that essential work can be carried out.
Work has already taken place to repair a damaged buoy that is attached to a flap that controls the water coming into Stowe Pool from Minster Pool.
Works also include creating a platform on the out-flow chamber (towards the St Chad’s Church end of Stowe Pool) to make it safer to access and clean the chamber, which controls the amount of water let out of the pool. When completed, Stowe Pool will fill up naturally.
The Environmental Agency has been notified of the water level reduction.
