Women are invited to play netball with the girls at Beacon Park on Thursday evenings, from 7pm to 8pm.
England Netball’s Back to Netball Thursday sessions are starting from 29 August at Beacon Park’s tennis courts, which have been refurbished recently and now include netball court markings and nets.
The sessions offer a gentle re-introduction to the game for all women over 16 years of age and will be led by qualified coaches.
Sarah Sleigh, Sports Development Officer, said: “During the Back to Netball sessions, you can expect to cover basic skills like passing and footwork and even play in a fun match. So, whether it is about rediscovering sporting abilities you forgot or about getting active again, Back to Netball caters for all abilities and giggles are guaranteed.”
The hour-long sessions do not need to be booked and are free for women aged from 16 to 25. It costs £2 a session for women aged over 25 years.
Funding to offer the free places for 16 to 25 year-olds has been provided by Sport England’s Sportivate initiative.
