Award-winning project

Lichfield Historic Parks was Highly Commended in the Environmental Regeneration category of the Southern Staffordshire Regeneration Awards, which took place on Wednesday 5 December at the Acton Trussell Moat House.

These are the Southern Staffordshire Partnership awards that celebrate regeneration projects across southern Staffordshire that were completed between 1 June 2010 and 31 August 2012.

Councillor Val Richards, Lichfield District Council’s Cabinet Member for Leisure Services, said: “We’re really pleased to have been recognised in this way. This project has transformed Beacon Park, the Garden of Remembrance and Minster Pool and Walk. Our thanks must go to teams across the council, our partners, and to the Heritage Lottery Fund and the Big Lottery Fund that contributed £3.9 million to the project.”
