We have developed a brass rubbing trail for children and a tree trail for all. We also run seasonal trails throughout the year, including at Easter and Halloween.
The Swinfen Broun Trail leads you through Beacon Park and across to Minster Pool, solving missions and completing eight brass rubbings along the way.
Look out for the brass rubbings on metal posts throughout Beacon Park and the final plaque attached on the railings of Minster Pool.
You can buy a trail for 50p from the Ranger Station (the kiosk next to Lakeside Bistro and the crazy golf course), or you can download the trail and print it off at home.
The Little City Tree Trail starts at Minster Pool and leads you to 12 broadleaf and coniferous trees dotted around the Garden of Remembrance and then onto Beacon Park, where it ends.
Each tree has an information plaque on it, plus a post with an embossed leaf shape on top to make a brass rubbing.
Trees include English Yew, Magnolia, Foxglove, Colorado White Fir, Silver Birch, Beech, Giant Sequoia, and more.
The one-hour trail is suitable for all. You can pick up your free tail from Tourist Information at St Mary’s in the Market Square, Lichfield City Council’s offices in Donegal House, Lichfield District Council’s Frog Lane offices, Lichfield Library and Beacon Park.
You can also download The Little City Tree Trail and print it at home.
